Welcome to the home page of cheating myxobacteria!

In a paper titled A possible mechanism of repressing cheaters in myxobacteria, Ying Xiao and Winfried Just describe a model that may possibly explain why myxobacteria colonies are not destroyed by cheating mutants, as long as these mutants are deficient in motility. This model was developed as a term project in Summer 2001 at Ohio University by Ying Xiao under the supervision of Winfried Just. The purpose of this web page is to give readers of the paper access to additional information on the program used and to the raw data obtained in our simulations.
